Can the attorneys use the AARP logo? |
| |
No. Participating attorneys may not use the AARP logo. You are permitted to reference your participation in the AARP Legal Services Network; however, you may not use any terminology that implies an "endorsement" of any kind by AARP.

How does the search function work? |
| |
The AARP Legal Services Network search function is supported by a geographic coding database that allows AARP members to select their preferred geographic area. They are able to search (1) by ZIP code and state, which provides the distance of the attorneys' location from the AARP member's ZIP code, (2) by area code and (3) by areas of practice. The search results will be displayed in random order.

How many Legal Areas of Practice will I be allowed to include in my directory listing? |

Listed Attorneys will be able to highlight up to six (6) areas of practice on an introduction screen. For the detail screen, the Listed Attorney may choose as many areas of practice as shown on the list as he/she wishes to display, all at no additional charge.

How many years of experience must an attorney have to participate in the AARP Legal Services Network directory? |
| |
To have a listing in the AARP Legal Services Network directory, an attorney must have been licensed to practice law for at least three (3) years.

What happens if I want to add or delete a participating attorney from my firm? |

Is there a penalty if I withdraw from the program now? |
| |
There is no penalty for withdrawing your listing from the directory but you will not be entitled to any refund of any fees you have paid.

Are there lower fees for attorneys in rural areas? |
| |
Yes. Signature Agency, Inc.'s fee structure has lower fees for rural areas than for metropolitan areas.

Will there be discounts for sole practitioners and small law firms? |
| |
No. Signature Agency, Inc.'s fee structure is not based on firm size. The fees for the first attorney in each firm will be the same based on geographic location. The fees for each additional attorney included at the same listing will be less.

How long will it take to be listed on the website after I make a payment? |
| |
After receiving payment, every attorney must go through a credentialing process. Many states offer this service online. However, if we have to mail for information, it may take up to 10 business days to be viewed on the website.

There is no exclusivity offered. We will add attorneys based on membership need.

The AARP Legal Services Network will continue to be offered to AARP members as part of their annual AARP membership dues.

Signature Agency, Inc. markets the online directory to AARP members in the AARP Member Guide, at annual member events, in the AARP Bulletin and via additional AARP communication channels throughout the year.

Signature Agency, Inc. group has been managing legal plans since 1985. This group manages the attorney networks that support the Legal Services Plan and Signature LegalCare®.

What is Signature Agency, Inc.'s attorney credentialing process? |
| |
Each Listed Attorney must meet the following selection criteria:
- Not less than 3 years of legal experience,
- A license in good standing with an appropriate state licensing authority and no history of professional discipline, and
- Minimum levels of malpractice insurance ($100,000 per occurrence and $300,000 aggregate).
Signature Agency, Inc. will conduct reviews each year, including license verification, disciplinary review, and will request a copy of your renewed malpractice insurance declaration's page.

Yes. Legal Services Network attorneys may join Signature Agency, Inc.'s other legal networks. Signature Agency, Inc. is always looking to expand its other networks and welcomes qualified attorneys into their networks who meet selection criteria standards.

No. The fees for participation in the AARP Legal Services Network directory is standard for all who wish to participate in this network. This network is separate and apart from our other existing networks.
